Today (December 4, 2011), sixteen villagers from Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, Kandal, Prey Veng, Takeo gathered at the Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) to receive a briefing by DC-Cam deputy director Dara P. Vanthan about Case 002’s process at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. The villagers were preparing to attend an evidential hearing at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal the next day. Among the attendees was Huon Kin, a former commune chief during the Democratic Kampuchea regime who is believed to have killed two people, and two surviving relatives of the deceased also attended the meeting at DC-Cam. Huon Kin is now a clergyman at a communal pagoda where the two relatives go on a regular basis to offer food to the monks, including to Kin.
